Meet Dr. Allen J. Chin (Houston, TX)

Allen J. Chin (“Dr. Allen”), O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2003. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. His special fields of interest include orthokeratology and scleral lenses for corneal diseases.

Dr. Allen’s passion for optometry began as a baby as he spent time around the office and his father, Dr. Allen H. Chin (“Dr. Chin”), also an optometrist in the practice. He says that some of his current patients still have memories of him as a little child in the office. As he grew older, he became more interested in science and helping others.

Dr. Allen loves the relationships he has developed with his patients over generations. Seeing families change and catching up with them as friends every day is very special. A bonus of working with his father has allowed them to foster a family relationship for over four generations for some.

When Dr. Allen is not treating patients in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
